This day begins picking you up from your hotel between 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., we will board our mobility to travel to the north west of the city of Cusco, to the town of Mollepata. This trip shows the exuberant valley of the Apurímac River. In this small and picturesque town we will have a well-deserved breakfast to fill us with energy, then we will continue our trip to the starting point of the walk the town of Soraypampa which is at an altitude of 3,900 m.a.s.l. After a short break, we will start our journey to Lake Humantay located at an altitude of 4,180 meters above sea level or 13,779 feet, after the ascent of 1 hour 20 minutes we will be able to appreciate the wonderful landscape, after the explanation of our guide and take our photos of memory we will have a time to enjoy the place and return to our camp to have our lunch with beautiful panoramic views of the snowy peaks and later will be transferred to the city of Cusco.

The walk to the place will make you feel a sense of peace and tranquility thanks to its natural beauty that you will run into. With a mystical air, the lagoon is visited by shamans and tourists from all over the world to leave offerings to the Pachamama, deity that represents Mother Earth in the Inca culture. Through the placement of stones (apachetas), an offering is offered to the Pachamama thanking him for having successfully arrived at the lagoon, as well as for asking to apu to accompany them on the journey. According to the inhabitants, the Humantay mountain is the youngest son of the Apu Salkantay, and they would be in charge of rationalizing and distributing the water that comes down from its snows to the populations that live at the foot of these impressive snowcapped mountains.
The Humantay Lagoon is located on the 4200 meters above sea level.Between the months of December and April the climate in the Humantay lagoon is temperate with precipitation, while between May and November the climate is cold but with a lot of sunshine during the day.
The difficulty of the hike to Humantay Lagoon is average. You have to walk 3.5 km for the time of 2 hours approx. (according to physical condition), if you do not have a good physical condition we recommend renting a horse.
